MFL Division 1
SIMONSTOWN 2-11
O’MAHONYS 0-7
A impressive all-round team effort laid the foundations for the minors’ FL Division 1 victory over O’Mahonys at home tonight (Monday).
The team in sky blue enjoyed the pefect start when full-forward Robbie Burlingham netted in the 4th minute and the number 14 also bagged his team’s second goal in the 40th minute.
Robbie shared the scoring honours with full-forward line colleague Nathan O’Brien who sent over seven points.
The hosts led by 1-5 to 0-4 at the break but Robbie’s brother Evan came to his team’s rescue when he denied O’Mahonys what would have been an equalising goal via the penalty spot six minutes into the second half.
